Anal Fissure is a condition in which there is an open sore in the anal skin area causing pain and burning when having a bowel movement. Follow our home remedies to better manage this problem:

  1. Milk

Milk is one of the best home remedies to treat anal fissure as it is a good source of constituents, which are vital for proper body functions. Include milk in your diet and drink hot milk before going to bed at night.

  1. Fiber

If you add fiber rich food in your daily diet you can effectively deal with this condition as fiber helps in boosting the regular bowel movements.  You can also take fiber supplements but after consulting your doctor.

  1. Pineapple

Pineapple helps in softening the stool and helps in digestion of foods as it is a great source of fiber. You have to eat fresh pineapple juice daily and it will definitely help you treating anal fissure.

  1. Nettle Juice

To decrease the soreness from anal fissures you have to maintain a right consistency of your stools. So, consume 1 tsp  of nettle juice for thrice daily as it will help you maintain the consistency of your stools at the  right level and decrease the soreness.

  1. Drink a lot of water

To improve your overall health you should drink plenty of water. Water helps in carrying nutrients to all the cells of your body and it also helps in removing toxins from your body.  Daily you have to drink 8 ounces of water for 8 times. It will help you in getting relieve from anal fissure.

  1. Flaxseed

To reduce the risk of constipation you have to take fiber and flaxseed contains a lot of fiber and omega-3s thus helping you a lot. Flaxseed is rich in laxative property that helps your bowel movements. You can either take flaxseed capsules or can mix 1 tablespoon of powered flaxseed in a cup of water than consume it once a day before going to bed at night.

  1. Coconut oil

Coconut oil is rich in medium-chain triglycerides, and it is evident that your anal skin can absorb the oil easily.  You can add coconut oil to your cooking or you can apply some coconut oil directly onto your affected area.

  1. L-arginine gel

According to a research, the application of L-arginine gel can treat anal fissure without any side effect. It also helps in speeding up the healing process as it increases the nitric oxide flow to the affected area. Just apply the gel on your affected area twice or thrice.

  1. Wheat germ oil

It is a great home remedy to treat anal fissure as it speeds up the healing process. You have to apply wheat germ oil directly on your affected area than half an hour later, use a tissue to clean it. For best result repeat this for 2-3 times daily.

  1. Olive oil

Olive oil can make your stool softer to pass with ease because olive oil contains healthy fats that can helps in lubricating your bowel system. Olive oil can also help in easing the pain caused by the anal fissure as it is rich in anti-inflammatory properties.

  1. Lentils

Lentils are high in dietary fiber making it a good home remedy for anal fissures. You can consume lentils two times daily.  Soak some lentils overnight. In the next morning take a clean cloth and place the lentils in it and keep sprinkling it with water to maintain moisture.

  1. Fruit juice

Fruit juice is important to soften your stool as it contains fiber. So, include fresh fruit juice in your diet daily to maintain a good health. Fruit juice contains digestive enzymes that help in boosting your digestive system.

  1. Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is one of the best home remedy for both anal fissure and constipation. It contains a fiber called pectin which is water-soluble and it helps your digestion and promote bowel movements. You have to add 1 tbsp of raw apple cider vinegar to a glass of water and consume the water twice daily.

  1. Comfrey

Comfrey has many medicinal values and it can be used to decrease pain caused by anal fissure. You can apply comfrey ointment directly onto your affected skin twice or thrice daily. You can also add 1 tbsp of dried comfrey to boiling water. Allow it to steep within 10-15 minutes, then strain the comfrey tea and let it cool. At last clean your anal area with it 2-3 times a day.

  1. Petroleum Jelly

You can deal with your anal fissure with the help of petroleum jelly as it lubricates to heal your wound in your anus. It is also helpful in regular bowel movements. It is one of the best home remedies and you should try it at home.

  1. Aloe Vera

You should not avoid using Aloe vera as a home remedy to treat anal fissures. You have to cut off an aloe vera leaf and apply the gel directly on your affected area. Repeat it for twice or thrice daily for best result.

  1. Proper hygiene

Maintain a proper hygiene as it can speed up the healing process. Use clean soft toilet paper to wipe your anal area. Try to keep your anal area dry because moisture can make your infection worse. Always try to wear loose-fitting and cotton underwear to help the air circulate well.

  1. A hot Sitz bath

A hot sitz bath can increase the blood flow to your anal area and can promote your healing process effectively. You can add a few drops of lavender essential oil to your bath water.  Soak your anal area into the solution for about 14-15 minutes.

  1. Ghee or, Clarified butter

Ghee is very effective as it helps in good bowel movement. Add a teaspoon of ghee to a glass of hot milk and drink it before going to bed at night. It will definitely give a good result.

  1. Drink a lot of water

Keep yourself hydrated with water as it helps to make your digestive system perform well. Water can make your stools soft. So drink a lot of water daily.
